For an epic of seasons,
I had wondered what might change
the arbitrary passing of day
measured by shadows
sweeping the half-light, until
the visit to Mukteshwar organised by Zice Holidays,
where covered under a ceiling of stars
I slowly woke to a pale dawn sky
rising just below the luminant crown of Trishul.
Mesmerised, I stood
deaf to

 | | Vikram Bajaj, CEO Inlingua. 08-Dec-2006 | | Hi Ravi,
Firstly, thanks for a great program - it was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by one and all.
I hope you had an equally successful run with Raghu's friends; atleast your bet on taking family groups has paid off instantly!
Coming back to the Binsar program, I thought it was remarkable how quickly and comfortably you could connect with a very diverse group. Your cheery, charming demeanour was an instant hit. So was the enthusiastic engagement by the rest of your team.
I don't need to talk about the activities and games themselves as you were witness to all the passion they generated. I think that overall the level of activity was just right and the pace never flagged. I can only say that the games gave the group hours, if not days, of animated talk much after they had ended. All in all, one couldn't have hoped for more.
So let me turn on a more critical eye, and suggest one area for improvement. I think that as a professional, paid team, you must look to achieving more rigorous standards in everything. As the idea of group-games catches on, there will be many more outfits of every hue. Individuals too will copy the ideas and apply them within their own circle. You must be able to distinguish yourself consistently, and stand above in every respect, from such amateurs.
In this context, I would have liked to have seen more preparation and thought in the conduct of the activities - whether it is the way clues were written, the manner in which rules were explained across teams, or the style of monitoring the players by the assistants. At times, these were too casual and bordered on the slip-shod. Even the rock-climbing activity began on a shaky note, thanks partly to your absence (one needs a commanding presence to control a sixty strong group), partly to the choice of venue, with traffic moving right next to the cliff, and partly to scheduling the tougher climbing before the rappelling, which has a more general appeal.
Rest assured - none of this came in the way of our enjoyment, and hardly a handful noticed these issues. But my purpose is to give you a constructive feedback that can take Zice to a different orbit. I hope you will take it in that spirit.
Wishing you and Zice all the best,
Cheers,
Vikram |
