"Our trip to Parasailing was really a great fun. The
archery was the real fun over there. The people/crowd
was simply too good and every one seemed to be
enjoying. The arrangements and the instructors were
also great and have got great expertise. While doing
para-sailing and the zorbing like activities we never
felt scared just because of the

 | | Dharam Raj / Ge 08-Aug-2005 | | HI Ravi,
It was a privilege to be part of the group that you formed to take us to Mukteswar.
Two things that I will cherish the most -
a) I used to consider myself more of the river/seaside junkie but only realised that I can be an mountain-fan too when we reached Mukteswar.
The long winding roads, the clean air, the cool climes. The teasing, brief glimpse of the Himalayan ranges. Mmmmm, if I close my eyes and think about it, I can visualise myself lost in Camp and its forest trails - the treks, rapelling and rock climbing. I was reading a review in the Outlook Traveller's "54 weekends outside Delhi" and quite agree with the author that the memories - sound, smell and sight of Mukteswar remains days much after we return back to Delhi. I personally can vouch of serious "withdrawal symptoms" and was living "in denial" for atleast 2 weeks wondering what I am doing back here when the hills beckon! :-)
b) the simple uncomplicated life led by the local people. Life is hard on the hills yet these people are so simple, innocent and friendly.
Its ironic that when we city slickers 'want' to get back to nature and lead a simple life while the locals are struggling to eke out an decent existence. I fervently hope that Wilddrift does work out on making the Kumaon region self-dependent and make the localites responsible for preserving the natural beauty.
Last but not least, the new friends we made with the Airtel crowd, Mr & Mrs Ajit, Mr & Mrs Sandip Goyal(IBM), the 6sigma gentleman Rajnish & his family and his cute lil daughter. A true potpourri of people & memories - sure wud luv to keep returning to Mukteswar.
All the best.
PS: how about a get-together of the Mukteswar gang in Delhi one of these days?
- rgds,
Dharma |
